Zach Sobiech

I was cruising  the book of face and found a post by a friend about this amazing young man… Zach Sobiech. So much can be learned by him in this short 20 minute insight into the end of his life (which sadly ended earlier this month), and get a glimpse of the beautiful soul he was. I watched the entire video with tears in my eyes… my hand over my heart because it hurt for him and all who loved him and knew him.

We don’t meet many people with the beautiful spirit he had and it is so contagious in the video. You just want to be surrounded by those who surrounded him to truly live with him when he had a short time to go… you wanted to be near him.

His story is heartbreaking and beautiful.

It reminded me that life is not always beautiful but it is a beautiful life.

If you have a few moments, watch this video. It may change your perspective for the day… and hopefully for all the days ahead. This is a story about living… not dying.

Emotional Intelligence… Practice It!

emotionalIntelligence

I love emotional intelligence! When we practice this, we remove all power that we allow others to have over us. I know it is difficult to learn and practice, trust me… this one is hard for me too… but once we are accountable for all of our emotions, we can have better control over them. Nobody “makes” us feel anything… our emotions belong to each and every one of us, they are not in the hands of others. Take back control and choose how you will feel…

Moving On Affirmation

move on

Ahhhh, the art of letting go and moving on… it is a difficult thing to do and often causes the heartache in our lives.

I remember, not long ago, I held desperately to my past. I held on to the mistakes as well as to the good times that I felt I had thrown away. While difficult to turn around, face forward, and press on… it must be done. I had started this process on my own, but it really kicked into full gear when love re-entered my life. So many things are healing for us… I had forgotten the healing power of love.

Find love and add it to your life. It does not have to be love of another person, but love. I think the greatest love of all is love of self. I work on this daily.

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking can bring so much into our lives. I know that life is not “that easy”, and this advice is “easier said than done”, but take time to reflect positively, to bask in the sunlight instead of hiding under the dark clouds. Try positivity and see the changes that come about. It is not an overnight transformation, but it IS a transformation.

Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are proven to improve our lives. 80% of our thoughts are negative. Therefore, using these positive affirmations will help to rewire your brain so that the negativity begins to diminish. Is it a cure all? No. But it most certainly helps to bring positivity into your life.

My affirmation for today is:

“I choose love, joy and freedom, open my heart and allow wonderful things to flow into my life.”

How many of us truly feel love, joy, and freedom when we are stuck in our past wallowing in our misfortunes?

By putting your affirmations all around you, you can look at them as you please. I use to write on my bathroom mirror to offer me some positivity..and I also wrote them down on index cards and pulled them out to read them each day. It was a great opportunity to bring me into a better mindset.

Nothing happens over night my friends… those who are *normal” so-to-speak, and those with mood disorders  would benefit from positive affirmations.

Who wants their thoughts to be negative 80%? Certainly not me!

Positive Affirmation for July.25.2012

Would you agree that these smiles are contagious??

Positive Affirmation: Today I choose to smile and be receptive to kindness.

How many of us go about our day with our heads hung down… staring at the ground as we walk?

I know I am often guilty of doing just that. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to hold your head high and look people in the eyes as you pass them, and offer a kind gesture… something as simple as a nod, a smile, a hello?

When we keep our head down, we are guarding ourselves from the kindness that may be bestowed upon us as well.

For today, for tomorrow, hold your head high. Look people directly in the eyes, say hello, or simply smile. When someone holds the door open for you, look them in the eye and thank them.

If we release this positivity and kindness, it will be returned. Just be receptive and less guarded.

You may be surprised at the difference it makes in your mood.

Choose to smile and choose to be receptive to kindness. ♥

Win In Your Mind!

“You’ve got to win in your mind before you win in your life.” – John Addison

A POWERFUL positive affirmation… great advice… indeed truth.

I cannot tell you how many times I have said, “I can’t do it” when in the throes of mental chaos.

We are what we think… ! This is powerful here my friends. Each opportunity we have for greatness comes from the mind. If we can learn to control our negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones… isn’t anything possible??

This move I am making is a perfect example. I have been a bit scared, but aside from scared, I am very excited. And not once have I told myself that I “can’t” do it. I have gotten my mind in order to align everything so that life will fall in place as it needs to be.

Our thoughts are very powerful… shouldn’t we be in control of what our thoughts are??

Train yourself into positivity.
